John Hancock

For the custom interior design of John Hancock Digital’s new work space, we were excited to explore new materials and methods in an effort to create something totally unique. We worked with our client through a variety of distinct concepts, before landing on one inspired by the four elements.

Looking to offer a seamless connection between existing furniture and our custom elements, we chose to go with blackened steel and oak. We included color from the John Hancock logo by dying the oak panels with indigo. The design language included perforated CNC patterning and indigo finishes, invoking the elements of air and water, and green spaces and fiery textiles completed the tranquil feeling. One Hat One Hand created a uniquely, concept driven space while tying in existing design threads used by SF based Ohio Design and tailoring the functionality to our client’s needs.
